WiFi Security Detector: Programming a Motion Sensor
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of programming a motion sensor to your Wi-Fi security system. Note that if you purchased a pre-made package, your sensors are already programmed.
Prerequisites:
- Ensure any unneeded sensors are turned off.
- Gather the motion sensor you wish to program.
Step-by-step Instructions:
- Verify the power switch on your motion sensor is either on (to the left) or off (to the right).
- Program the sensor, whether it’s currently on or off.
- Navigate to the main panel and press the three striped button to enter the menu. Select Sensors, then choose Sensor.
- Either select a zone by scrolling or input the desired zone number using the number keys, followed by pressing OK.
- Add 0, 1, and the zone number you chose. For example: 3, 0, 1.
- Trigger the sensor to confirm its programming. You can create motion or turn the unit on if it was off. Add Successfully Programmed should appear after successful setup.
Configuration:
By default, zones containing motion sensors are set to Home Type. This means the motion sensors in this zone will be active when the system is armed in a way mode but not when it’s armed in Home mode.
- Navigate to Attributes and select 2 to choose Home.
- Press OK to save your changes.
Testing:
Now you can perform a test by arming the system and triggering the sensor to ensure proper functioning.
